FLY WITH THE LOCAL BOYS
Our experienced U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain and crew of Ocracoke
Island’s only parasail company offer the best views of the island from
over 500 feet in the air. The parasail times run from nine am
until six pm on the hour every hour. The boat can hold up to six
passengers for every boat trip. Riders ride along for $20 a person and
that is only on a stand by basis.
WHAT IS PARASAILING?
You will be flying high above Ocracoke Island and the Atlantic Ocean in
a specially designed parachute which is towed behind a high tech speed
boat. Our custom built winchboats are "state of the art", utilizing a
hydraulic launch and recovery system. This provides for easy take-off
and landings directly from the flight deck of the boat. Each ride is
under control for an effortless ocean thrill ride. You don't even have
to get wet, but where is the fun in that?
We have two USCG certified 6 passenger parasail boats. These boats are
designed specifically for parasailing. Whether you are all by yourself
or a large group we are more than happy to take you to new heights.
We offer tandem (two
people flying together) and single harness rides. We fly 400' of rope,
which puts you approximately 250'-300’ high off the water and 800’ of
rope, which puts you approximately 500’-600’ high off the water. Each
ride lasts about 15 minutes. The entire trip lasts about an hour dock to
dock. You will enjoy the boat ride and beautiful scenery while
everyone takes their turn flying.
LOCATION
Ocracoke Parasail is located at the Jolly Roger Restaurant &
Marina, which is located on Highway 12 across from the Silver Lake Inn.
We have our reservation booth next to the restaurant and marina. There
is free parking and deckspace on the dock for those of you that are not
parasailing, to just hangout and enjoy the marina life. The restaurant
and bar are open for lunch and drinks.
SEASON
We open everyday from Memorial Day, May 25th through Labor Day,
September 3rd, starting at 9:00 am until 6:00 pm. Season dates and
times are subject to change.
RESERVATIONS
Our season is short and there is high demand for parasail rides. It's
not unusual to be sold out days in advance during the busy summer
months. We advise making reservations in advance to schedule the exact
time you need to fit into your vacation schedule. You can make
reservations by calling 252-928-2606 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please have a
Visa or Mastercard available to hold your reservation. Due to the
limited number of seats (6) on each hour trip, we only take
reservations for parasailors. Observers are only taken if the boat has
empty seats at time of departure.
